INTERNATIONAL WOMENS DAY 2024
A year ago I gave my daughter a diary to note the misogynistic words thrown at her and female identifying friends. I could see the negative impact the bullying behaviours were having and wanted to call it out. We created this project idea together. Others have come forward to share some of their experiences, I could fill a laneway.
On International Womens Day we joined a group of Artists in the seventh year of feminist action in Hosier Lane, one of Melbourne’s most iconic street art places.
This project aims to call out toxic masculinity, give voice to internalised misogyny and recognise what younger generations are experiencing. The portraits and words shared in these posters are a small representation of a relentless and insidious problem.
My deepest thanks to all who have contributed and continue to be advocates.

Encouraged by the response to our art installation, I have decided to continue this project, now open to anyone residing in Australia. I will release further details shortly, but am taking registrations of interest below.
The ongoing project will take an intersectional approach and explore various voices experiencing oppression in order to understand the depths of people’s lived experience and thus opportunities for change and equality.
Please complete the form below and I will be in touch shortly with full project details and plans of reaching various locations. It’s not a requirement to enter your postcode but it will help me greatly with planning. Please feel free to spread the word to others you think may be interested.
